The second day of India Handicrafts Gifts Fair saw a large number of foreign buyers. The exhibition that is being held at Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida invites a large number of buyers from across the world. The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts made all possible arrangements to ensure a comfortable visit for the buyers.
This year, nearly 500 buyers have attended the second day of the fair and the number is expected to go up on Thursday and Friday.
Elmarie, a buyer from South Africa was happy to visit the fair. She has been a regular visitor to the fair and buys furniture and home décor materials. She said, ‘It has been five years that I am attending IHGF and each year I find new and more improved collection. Indian artisans have the best work and 70% of my house decorated with the items from India.’
The exhibitors are also pleased to see the numbers of the buyers and are expecting good business this year.
B Subramanian who deals with artistic handicrafts like Stone Carvings, wooden carvings and colonial furniture said that more than 50 buyers signed a deal with his company in two days. He said, ‘We have our permanent buyers but this year we are expecting to get new clients.’
Meanwhile, the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) on Wednesday organised a seminar on ‘VRIKSH Timber Legality Assessment and Verification Program – India’.
