KYC deadline for LPG customers extended till 15 Nov

Update: 2012-11-01 02:40 GMT
The deadline for submission of KYC [Know Your Customer] details in the prescribed form along with proof of identity [POI] and proof of address [POA] by multiple LPG connection-holders has now been extended till 15 November 2012. Earlier, the last date for submission of the details was fixed as 31 October 2012.

Indian Oil officials said that only those customers whose names appear in the respective oil marketing company’s [OMC] Transparency Portal identified as using/holding multiple LPG connections [the list is also available with your LPG distributor] need to submit the KYC details.

Customers whose names do not appear in the transparency portal of oil companies, or in the list available with your distributor, as multiple connection holders need not submit the KYC details. ‘Customers holding a single LPG connection need not, therefore, rush to their distributors to submit their KYC details as they are not required to do so as of now,’ the officials said.

Officials said OMCs have also eased the process for transfer of existing LPG connection among family members [during lifetime] or to the legal heir [in case of death] of the registered consumer, besides easing regularisation of LPG connection held in someone else’s name, but with original documents.

There is also provision for regularisation of LPG equipment held without original documents in the new scheme launched by OMCs.
