In a shocking incident, a youth shot his father and fled the house. Police suspected that the youth was drug addicted. He forced his father to give him money. After his father refused, he shot his elderly father and decamped from the spot at Asansol.

The condition of victim was really critical when he was taken to hospital. The doctors in the hospital said that his condition was deteriorating rapidly. The bullet was, however, taken out from his body.

Police learnt that an altercation led to a scuffle between the father and son. The father tried to restrict his son from taking money from the almirah. But his son forcefully snatched the bundle of notes from his father. He even tried to scare his father by showing a revolver.
It is unclear to the investigators that how the youth got the revolver. The police suspect that he probably took the revolver from some local anti-socials.

A police team started raids in different places in search of the youth. A sniffer dog was brought in there. The dog started to run in a specific direction. But it suddenly lost the trail. The investigators, however, interrogated the other family members in the house.

The investigators are trying to know how the youth got hold of the revolver. If some anti-social gave the youth that arm to shot his father, then there must be some hidden arms factory in the Asansol area. Incidents of burglary, murder and extortion have become commonplace in the Asansol area.

A coal trader, Shyamal Bauri, of Asansol was shot from the point blank range, a year back while he was returning home on his motorbike. The investigators later learnt that some coal mafia might be involved in the case. His rivals assigned those goons to kill him, the investigators learnt.
