Mystery shrouds the death of two persons including an elderly woman, whose bodies were found at different places in North Kolkata on Sunday morning.
Police said the body of 45-year-old Krishna Pal was found at Hari Bose Lane in Burtala. Some people found him lying in an unconscious state and informed the police.
Police went to the spot and took the body to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Investigation revealed that the victim was a resident of Madhyamgram and he was a building materials supplier.
His family members identified the body. After speaking to them, the police came to know that his finger rings, a gold chain and money purse were not found with his body.
A police officer said that they have initiated a probe in this connection.
Police suspect that he went to meet someone in the area where he fell ill.
Doctors told the police that the person died due to cardiac arrest.

In another incident, the charred body of a 65-year-old woman was found on a narrow Raghunath Chatterjee Street at Amherst Street on Sunday morning.
Local people saw the body of the victim, Subhra Chatterjee, when they had gone out for their morning walks. They informed others in the area and took her to hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman's son was ill and was at present fighting for his life at the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital. On Saturday evening, doctors told her that her son's condition was very critical.
The woman, who used to stay at Gopal Bose Lane in Amherst Street with her son and daughter, was depressed after receiving the news.
Police also found that the family owned a kerosene oil shop.
The cops suspect that the woman had taken kerosene oil in a container and went to
Raghunath Chatterjee Street as it remains deserted most of the time. There she had set herself on fire.
Police sent the body for an autopsy.
They also initiated a probe and spoke to the deceased's daughter. They came to know that the victim had taken the extreme step a few hours after returning from hospital where her son was admitted.
