Two arrested on charges of theft from medicine godown

Kolkata: The Behala police station apprehended two persons on charges of theft at a pharmaceutical godown on Jyotish Roy Road a few days back.
Acting on a tip-off, former employee of the company Manoj Pandey was nabbed from his residence at Maheshtala in South 24 Parganas while another person Tapan Samanta (23) was held from Roy Bahadur Road in Behala on Friday night.
Police informed that the owner of the pharma company Subrata Mukhopadhyay had lodged a complaint on October 4 that medicine products worth about Rs 1,10,280 was stolen from his godown situated on Jyotish Roy Road.
The sleuths recovered a bulk of the stolen items from the duo's possession and also seized the vehicle that was used for the crime. The recovery was made from Pandey's Maheshtala residence and also from Samanta's house at Lake Town.
Meanwhile, a special team of the detective department of the Barrackpore police and Criminal Investigation Department arrested two persons from Naihati, RBC College road and recovered firearms from their possessions.
The accused are identified as Krishna Shaw (21), a resident of Kata Bottala area under Jagaddal police station in North 24 Paraganas while the other Joney Sani (23) is from Roy Bahadur Road under the same police station. The police recovered two improvised 9 mm pistol and one piece of one shutter from their possession.
