A three-day Japanese film festival will be inaugurated in the city on February 23 which will run till February 25 at Dr Triguna Sen auditorium of Jadavpur University.
Entry to the film festival is free. It will be inaugurated in the presence of Professor Suranjan Das, Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University, Masayuki Taga, consul general of Japan, Abhijit Roy, head of department, Film Studies, JU and Barun Chanda, film actor.
Sue Mai Sawa: Righting the girl ship is based on the lives of three women in their thirties struggling with their future, love lives and
more. It will be screened on February 23 at 4 pm.
Seventh Code is based on the story of a women who arrives in the far eastern city of Vladivostok in search of a man. She is evidently re-united but he soon disappears, leaving her with only his mysterious words. The movie will be screened on February 23 and again on February 25 at 6 pm and 6.20 pm respectively.
Round trip heart is the story of a lady train attendant who suddenly receives a letter from her estranged mother. She also befriends a passenger with whom she embarks on an exciting journey in search of her mother. It will be screened on February 24 at 4 pm.
Au Revoir I ete, an abundantly humorous depiction of an obsessed girl with the dream of becoming a voice actor and who is forced to grow up without mother is also slated to be screened during the film festival.
