Police have arrested a primary school teacher from his house at Bhupatinagar of East Midnapore on the charges of molesting a Class III student inside a classroom.
Police said that after school hours, the victim was in the class with another student. The accused teacher asked one of the girls to go to a nearby shop to buy some utensil and molested the victim girl. The girl fell ill after returning home. She was also under mental trauma.
The family members of the girl asked her about the incident. Initially, the girl was hesitant to inform the matter to her family members. Her parents managed to convince her and she narrated the whole incident to them. The family members also took the victim to a nearby health centre. She was released from the health centre on Wednesday.
As the news of the incident spread, the local residents became furious and gathered outside the house of the accused teacher. They dragged the accused out of his house and started beating him up and he was injured in the incident. The incident had triggered tension in the area.
After being informed, the police reached the spot and rescued the accused teacher from the mob. On the basis of the complaint lodged by the family members of the victim, the police arrested the accused teacher. He was also taken to a local health centre because of the injuries he received in the attack. Police are interrogating the accused teacher.
