Teacher appoints contract killers to murder wife

 Police have arrested a school teacher from Katwa in East Burdwan on charges of getting his wife killed by engaging contract killers at the cost of Rs one lakh.
The incident triggered tension on Saturday morning after the accused husband admitted to his crime while being beaten up by the local residents. The accused, Ujjal Bhaskar Ghosh, a history teacher of a Higher Secondary school from Pataihat area of Katwa had allegedly engaged four contract killers to carry out the crime.
It has been learnt that the accused in the face of police interrogation admitted his guilt. He also told the police that he had been planning it for the last three years and finally appointed the contract killers at the cost of Rs one lakh.
The crime had taken place inside his house at Katwa stadium para area on the night of July 18. Four contract killers throttled Mahua Ghosh to death in the presence of the accused husband. The couple's son told the police that his father also joined hands with the accused to kill his mother. After committing the crime, the accused dumped the body of the woman in a nearby bush. Some of the local residents in the next morning found the body lying in the bush few metres away from the house.  
The local residents suspected that the husband might have been involved in the crime as there were irregularities in his statement. The accused admitted following tremendous pressure from the local residents. Police were also interrogating the accused. They are conducting raids to nab the contract killers.
