Kolkata: Subhrangshu Roy, Trinamool Congress MLA from Bijpur in North 24-Parganas, has been admitted to a private hospital on EM Bypass following some ailments.
The hospital authorities, however, did not want to comment on the nature of his ailments. It has been learnt that the 36-year-old Trinamool Congress leader from North 24-Parganas was taken to the hospital on late Monday night, after he complained of vomiting and some other complications.
Trinamool Youth Congress president Abhishek Banerjee visited the ailing Roy at the private hospital on Tuesday morning, while Trinamool Congress Supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee went to the hospital to see him on Tuesday evening.
The Chief Minister inquired about his heath during her short stay in the hospital. Some of the hospital sources said that he might be suffering from liver-related ailments and had been vomiting repeatedly before being taken to the hospital.
The hospital officials, however, remained tight-lipped and did not confirm the reason of his admission to the hospital.
He has been kept under observation since his admission. Several clinical tests were performed on the patient on Tuesday. Subhrangshu's
father Mukul Roy also rushed to the hospital on Tuesday morning.
