In a recently organised seminar on 'Oil and Gas Conservation Mass Awareness Campaign' Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, Minister of Power and Non-conventional Energy Resources expressed his concern about the polluted environment in which the present generation is being brought up.
The different gases released from vehicles cause pollution as well as wastage of fuel occurs. That is why he inspired the young generation to properly utilise the fossil fuels for a pollution free future.
Not only the State and Central Government, but also the schools and colleges should play a pivotal role in creating awareness among the common people.
The other distinguished speakers present in this seminar organised by Shilpa Bichitra, an esteemed industry & commerce oriented journal, at Rotary Sadan were Abhijit Chanda, Additional Director, PCRA; Dr. Ashish Ghosh, Director, Centre for Environment and Development; Dr PK Chakraborty, Guest Faculty Member, IISWBM; Rajat Chakraborty, Associate Professor, Chemical Engineering Department, Jadavpur University and SK Maity, Chief Technical Services Manager, Bengal State Office, Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
As a part of this event, a three-day boat campaign was also organised from Belur to Budge Budge which grabbed the attention of common people about the conservation of oil and natural gas.
