Two youth held for ransacking Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya

Police have arrested two youth who ransacked a portion of Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya on Wednesday.

After starting an investigation police have gone through the CCTV footages of the school and arrested the two accused. The investigation was started after the college authorities lodged a complaint at Kasba police station.

The accused are Sumit Pandey and Asit Mishra. The accused entered into the college premises on Wednesday evening and started ransacking the chairs along with some portions of the college building. They damaged the windowpanes, chairs and college gates. Some students who opposed the accused were also beaten up by them.

The staff members of the college had informed the matter to the principal of the college. The college authorities have informed the matter to the police station. Police rushed to the spot and started an investigation. Police later arrested the accused on the charges of ransacking the college campus. The college authorities have lodged a written complaint at the police station on Thursday morning.

Examining the CCTV footages, the police have found that the accused damaged the chairs, windowpanes and the office buildings. Police are yet to confirm whether the accused are the students of the college or if they are outsiders. Police are yet to ascertain the exact cause behind the attack. The accused in the face of interrogation pointed fingers at the students union of the college.

Police are investigating the real cause behind the attack. They are also investigating if the two accused are the students of the college or the members of the students union.
