No political party is leaving any stone unturned to gain mileage out of the Ausgram incident in which police station was attacked in protest of illegal construction on a plot owned by a local school.

The situation has taken an interesting turn on Monday when daughters of the arrested Trinamool Congress councillor and former chairman of Guskara Municipality Chanchal Kumar Garai met PCC chief Adhir Chowdhury during his visit to the place.

Chowdhury held police responsible for the unrest in Ausgram. He went to the house of Garai and spoke to his family members. He assured Garai's family members that he would speak to lawyers in this connection.

Taking a dig at Chowdhury, local Trinamool Congress leaders claimed that such visits are completely politically motivated. Moreover, no comment should be passed when police are probing into the incident.

The police had arrested 12 persons including the Trinamool Congress councillor and a CPI(M) leader Suren Hembram in connection with the attack on the police station.

The mob had damaged police vehicles and other valuables when they attacked the police station. This comes at a time when the state government is going to introduce stringent laws to check incidents of property damage.
