Bengal showed an exceptional development in last three years, which was never seen before in this state, feels Sunil Kanoria, president of The Associated Chambers of Commerce of India (ASSOCHAM).

"The negative image which was hampering in bringing in industry here has gone under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Now it is time to grow," said Kanoria, while exclusively talking with Millennium Post. Kanoria was one of the invited industry guests at the third edition of Bengal Global Business Summit.

"I have shared some specific thoughts with the Chief Minister of Bengal. I told her to share the stories of growths, investments and those interesting figures across the globe. These attractive stories can bring you investments. There is no harm in spreading such stories across the world," Kanoria, who is also the vice chairman of Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited. Kanoria feels state government's focus on MSME is really a great step.

"MSME will garner huge revenue and profit. It will generate employment in large scale, which big industry could not do at a time," he said

"Bengal government is ready to give away land, they are industry friendly and the state is bringing reforms to do business easily. The investments will follow the state now," Kanoria added.

The ASSOCHAM president believes that the state should put efforts on doing skill development. It will help the state's growth in country's industry scenario. "I have also suggested this idea to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that India should not follow China. We need not become a manufacturing power house. But we need to create skilful man power," Kanoria further added.

He said that Bengal has seen huge improvements in road construction. The road surface has become extremely good, which is a prerequisite for getting investment. "We are doing business here without any hitch. We continue to tell the business fraternity about the vision of Bengal government," Kanoria said.

However, most of the businessmen who participated in BGBS lauded the efforts of Bengal government's vision tobring in investment. They describe Bengal as the peaceful destination to carry out the ventures.
