The body of Mou Sarkar (19), who was missing since the last few days, was recovered from near Kalighat at Ichhapur in North 24 Parganas on Tuesday. After being informed by the local people, police recovered the body.
Police said that she went missing on February 17 after going out for a trip on a motorcycle of the youth with whom she had an affair. The family members of the victim lodged a missing dairy at the Bijpur police station on the same day. On the following day, the family members lodged a murder complaint in the police station accusing that her boyfriend Jyotirmoy Chakraborty was involved in the incident and there was foul play behind the incident.
Police came to know from some of her classmates that she had gone to college on the day she went missing. After attending a couple of classes, she left the college premises along with Jyotirmoy. Since that day she did not return.
Her family members demanded a proper probe into the incident and claimed that the police can ascertain the accused by interrogating Jyotirmoy.
