KoPT chief assures to clear pending salary of Haldia Dock Complex staff

Kolkata: In the wake of withhold of payment of a good number of staff of Haldia Dock Complex following GST, Chairman of Kolkata Port Trust Vineet Kumar assured of clearing their payments soon.

Kumar, who has recently taken charge as chairman of KoPT, met stakeholders of Haldia Dock Complex – Port Users, Contractors, Union representatives and Officers' Association representatives and gave a patient hearing to their issues. He assured them that their payments that have been withheld due to the effect of GST will be released urgently.

He requested the stakeholders to cooperate with the Port for increasing the traffic throughput as well as the efficiency of the Port working. Kumar also visited one of the Dredging Corporation of India's dredger at Haldia anchorage and saw the dredging operation including side casting. He took stock of various other initiatives taken up at HDC.
