A woman found bundles of Aadhaar cards from a roadside at Magrajpur in South 24 Parganas on Wednesday morning. The woman reached the local police station with the cards and handed over the bundles to the officers. Police said that Kakoli Halder, who makes paper bags and supplies to markets, saw newspapers were piled up on the roadside.
She took the newspapers to her house for using it to make paper bags. She found three bundles of Aadhaar cards tied with rubber band which were kept inside the piled up newspapers.
"The woman was initially confused that what should she do but later came to the police station to hand over the bundles to the police officers," said a police source.
Police started an investigation and interrogated the woman. The woman informed the police that she had checked all these cards. But there was nobody whom she knows. "She said, all these persons were unknown to her and she did not see them in her village," said the source.
Officers will investigate that whether these cards are genuine or not.
