Sultan Ahmed, MP from Uluberia Lok Sabha constituency, failed to turn up at the office of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at Nizam Palace due to his pre-scheduled programme.

The CBI had served a notice to Ahmed on Tuesday summoning him in order to record his statement in connection with the Narada sting operation.
The counsel of Ahmed went to the CBI's office on Wednesday morning and informed the concerned officers about Ahmed's inability to turn up. The counsel told the CBI officers that Ahmed would take some days to turn up for recording.

The counsel told the CBI officers that Ahmed will give full cooperation with the investigating officers.

Meanwhile, Narada News CEO Mathew Samuel also went to the CBI's office on Wednesday. It may be mentioned that the CBI had earlier questioned Samuel in this connection. He came to the city on Tuesday as he was being summoned by Kolkata Police for questioning in connection with an extortion case of Munchipara police station.

He was asked to submit various documents and the police had also sent him an e-mail to deposit the same.
