Loot in Kamrup Exp

 A gang of three miscreants boarded the Guwahati-bound Kamrup Express when the train was about to enter Rangapani station in Siliguri and looted valuables.

Before departing, the miscreants pushed two passengers out of the running train one of whom reportedly died while the other suffered critical injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital. The local residents rescued the injured persons from the railway tracks and rushed them to the hospital where one declared brought dead.

Police said that the accused boarded the train in guise of monks and provided spiked food to the passengers in the Sealdah-Guwahati Kamrup Express. When some of the passengers fell ill, the accused looted their valuables. Two passengers who opposed the accused were thrown out of the running train. Police are yet to arrest anybody in this connection so far. According to the police, both the victims who used to work as daily wage labourers in Bengaluru were returning home in Assam.

The deceased has been identified as Panchu Sapnamari while the other whose identity is yet to divulged by the police has been undergoing treatment at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.
