Bidhannagar City Police arrested one person for his alleged involvement in fake appointment-related cases under primary teachers' recruitment on Friday.

Monotosh Das, the accused, is a resident of Kolkata. Police learnt that Das made a fake appointment letter for a candidate a few months ago. The candidate took the letter along with him for claiming his job at the West Bengal Board of Primary Education. But the officers there soon identified the letter as a fake one following which, he was handed over to the police.

The investigators started grilling the candidate following which he gave the investigators details about Das. "We learnt that Das gave him that fake appointment letter in exchange of a hefty sum. We took information about Das from him," said a police source.

However, the investigators suspected that Das was only small part of the racket. The kingpin of the racket is still at large.

"That candidate is a resident of Behala. That youth was trapped by the accused Das. The accused assured him to get the job with the fake appointment," the source said. our correspondent
