A fire broke out at an oil mill near Khanna More late on Monday night, triggering tension in the area. Around eight fire tenders were deployed to douse the flames. Local residents spotted smoke billowing out of the oil mill. Thick black smoke soon covered the entire locality. Initially, the locals participated in the rescue operation.
After being informed of the incident, fire tenders were rushed to the spot and firefighters kept the flames from spreading to the surrounding areas. Local residents alleged that the business was being run without a proper license. The oil mill was completely gutted in the fire. Police and the fire brigade suspect that an electrical short circuit might have caused the incident. Preliminary investigation reveals that there was no fire fighting mechanism in the oil mill. The exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be ascertained
