HC expresses concern over Ma Manasha Clinic

Calcutta High Court expressed deep concern over the role of a North Bengal Health Clinic which allegedly is run by a person claiming himself to be a doctor. But the further investigation revealed that he was not at all a doctor.

That man reportedly diagnosed hundreds of patients who came to him for treatment. While hearing the case regarding this issue, Justice Joymalya Bagchi expressed his concern.

The Justice said that the man could do illegal abortions. This thing may be done behind the treatment of piles and fistula.

According to the Calcutta High Court, Ma Manasha Clinic at Darjeeling was famous for piles and fistula treatment.

The owner of the clinic Chandan Biswas and another person Bidhan Biswas, who claimed himself a doctor, were arrested. Later police revealed that Bidhan was not a doctor.

On September 15, Police conducted a raid there. The investigators arrested Bidhan for treating the patient illegally, as he could not submit medical license and MBBS certificate.

Later, the owner of the clinic, Chandan Biswas was arrested.

However, on Wednesday, the lawyer of Bidhan Biswas claimed in Calcutta High Court that his client was not a doctor. He was only a staff there.

The lawyer also mentioned that the Darjeeling District Court directed Bidhan Biswas to file discharge application, which is the process of withdrawal of charge against the accused by the police.
