Kolkata: Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday urged the people of Bengal to maintain peace and not to spread violence.
During a press meet, he requested state government to act quickly to stop the violence. "What I am seeing has pained me, shocked me. Police should be more proactive," said the Governor.
Dhankhar on Sunday stated that the violence which is taking place in several areas
across the state, should be dealt with proper action. He also urged people through the media to keep calm and help the administration to maintain peace.
He also urged the political parties not to take any step to gain political mileage. "It is not the time to look for political gain," the Governor added.
