A gang of miscreants stormed into the office of a financial organisation which provides gold loans and looted gold worth Rs nearly 3 crore while threatening the employees at gunpoint.
Police said that that the miscreants barged into the office of the financial institution situated on Park Street under Beniapukur police station on Thursday noon. They pointed guns at the employees and asked for the key to the chest. Before looting the gold, the gang members snapped the wire of the CCTV of the office. Before leaving the place, the accused took away the hard disk of the computer system that was monitoring the surveillance cameras fitted in the office of the financial institution. After being informed, police reached the spot and started an investigation in this regard.
The incident triggered tension among the employees of this institution because it occurred in broad daylight. Police have started a probe in this regard. They are interrogating the senior officials of the organisation and its employees. It has become little difficult for the police to track the case as the accused snapped the electrical wire of the CCTVs. The miscreants entered into the office posing as customers, police said.
