Fire breaks out at rubber factory at Tiljala

Kolkata: A fire broke out inside a rubber factory at Tiljala on Friday afternoon. The incident triggered tension among locals as it is situated in congested area. 
Some of the locals spotted smoke billowing out of the factory and informed the matter the fire brigade. Altogether 7 fire tenders were pressed into action to douse the flames.
Fire fighters tried to check the spread of the fire to the adjoining areas. They had difficulty to identify the source of the fire as the area was filled with thick black smoke.
As there was a huge amount of inflammable materials stored inside the factory, the fire fighters used foam to extinguish the blaze. Some of the locals also took part in the rescue operation. The fire personnel acted on a war footing and brought the situation under control within two hours.
After being informed, senior police officers rushed to the spot and cordoned off the entire area. Some of the staff members who were inside the factory at the time of the accident were safely evacuated. People living in the adjacent areas were taken to a safer place in order to prevent any untoward incident.
