Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is all set to embark on her North Bengal tour on Monday during which she will be holding the administrative review meeting of North Dinajpur.
In the current calendar year, the administrative meeting in all the districts will be completed with this one in North Dinajpur.
The last administrative review meeting that she held in district was at Digha in East Midnapore. Prior to that, she had visited all other districts along with Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Director General of Police and senior officers from all the departments. She had taken stock of the situation of the ongoing projects in each of the districts and gave necessary direction for further development in each one of them.
The Chief Minister also attended a public meeting during her visit to the districts from where she had distributed different articles among beneficiaries from the respective districts. According to sources, Banerjee will be reaching Siliguri on Monday evening and she will be holding the administrative review meeting at Chopra in North Dinajpur on Tuesday. Senior administrative officers of the district are busy taking all the necessary steps before the administrative review meeting. The Chief Minister will be taking stock on each and every project. Besides the administrative officers and police officers starting from Superintendent of Police to Inspector In-Charges of all the police stations in the district, representatives of Panchayats and MLAs will also be present at the meeting. Banerjee will also be hearing representatives of Chambers of Commerce and students from the districts.
There are several projects in the district which she had directed to implement properly during her last visit. She will be enquiring about their present situation. She is also scheduled to hold a public meeting on Tuesday itself from where she will be addressing a gathering after distributing different articles among the beneficiaries. She will also be laying foundation stones and inaugurating several projects from the same programme. The Chief Minister is also scheduled to hold a meeting of the Tribal Advisory Council on Wednesday. Security has been beefed up in the district. Necessary preparations have also been made keeping the present situation in mind to avoid any law and order problem during the Chief Minister's stay in North Bengal. Additional policemen have been deployed and frisking operations by both the dog squad and bomb squad are being carried out. There will be a huge turnout of people to welcome her and accordingly arrangements have been made to avoid any sort of mismanagement.
