Chaitanya Mela organised by Gaudiya Mission has attracted thousands of devotees all over the state.
The purpose of the mela is to develop unity among people. Seminars and works have been organised to highlight the life of Sri Chaitanya.
Firhad Hakim, state Urban development department while participating in a seminar said it was the tradition of Bengal to uphold social and religious unity. "There is cultural unity and religious unity and Sri Chaitanya had fought to set up social justice and was against any kind of discrimination. Such fairs are very significant as the message of unity is spread among people through these events," Hakim said.
Gaudiya Mission had organised procession in various streets in North Kolkata spreading the message of love and universal brotherhood. Through drama and music artistes highlighted the message of Sri Chaitanya.
