Kolkata: A Madhyamik examinee who had prepared his own admit card by forging his closest friend's card and appeared for the examination in Nadia district was caught and handed over to police on Monday.
The imposter Rony Biswas was appearing for the examination from the very first day of its commencement and has already appeared in the exams of five subjects.
It is learnt that Rony, a student of Badkulla United Academy in Nadia had been sitting for the examination from the centre at Suravistan BM Girls School.
His answer scripts had reached the office of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education last week and on careful scrutiny it was noticed by the Board that they have not issued any admit card with the roll number of that student. His registration number was examined and it was found to be forged.
He was caught red handed when he came to sit for his Mathematics examination on Monday. He admitted that he had not filled up forms for Madhyamik this year and that he used his skills in Photoshop to scan his friend's admit card and has been using it for appearing in
the examination.
"We had first decided to hand him over to his parents. But when he refused to tell the address of his residence and refused to reveal the identity of his parents we handed him over to the police," a senior Board official said.
His friend who was also appearing in the same examination hall was dumb founded at the act of Rony.
Board president Kalyanmoy Ganguly claimed that the Mathematics examination was held peacefully
across the state.
