Pritam Ghosh (17), a student of Class XI from Sonarpur in South 24-Parganas died after the motorcycle he was riding on skidded.
Police said that victim was racing with some other bikers at the time of the accident and he was not wearing a helmet.
A resident of Shitala area of Sonarpur the victim stepped out of his house in the evening with his motorcycle. Some of his friends were waiting on Jayanpur road with their motorcycles.
When the victim reached the spot it was decided that they would race. While speeding, the victim lost control and it skidded on the road while taking a turn. He received fatal injuries on his head and was declared brought dead by the hospital.
