Mystery shrouds the death of a girl and a boy whose bodies were found hanging from a tree in a garden at English Bazar in Malda.
Police said that on Friday morning some local people found the bodies of the girl and the boy hanging from the tree. They informed it to the police.
Policemen from local police station rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for an autopsy.
The police spoke to the local people to ascertain the exact reason behind the incident. The police suspect that they might have got engaged into an affair against the will of their family members. They had failed in convincing their family members and committed suicide.
The police spoke to their family members and came to know that the girl was scolded a few days ago and was asked not to speak with the boy anymore with whom he had an affair.
The police are also not ruling out the possibility of any foul play behind the incident. The police are trying to find whether there was someone else who had killed them and hanged their bodies from the tree to distract the police. So the police would be speaking some friends of both the victims.
Both the girl and the boy had left their home early in the morning. The police will be going through their call records to ascertain that who had contacted them and asked to come at the deserted place where their bodies were found.
