A local anti-social molested a woman and her daughter at South 24 Parganas' Rasapunja on Monday night. The incident took place at the residence of that woman in front of her family. The victim lodged an FIR with the Bisnupur police station.
Police learnt that the victim woman was recently abducted by those anti-socials a few days ago. But they had returned her home. She was threatened that she would be killed if police was informed.
The woman was completely mum about incident. But she went to the police after insistence of her family.
According to a local source, accused anti-social, Uttam Ghosh and his gang barged into the house of the woman and beat her up and then allegedly molested her. The daughter of the woman was also molested by the gang.
The woman had gone to shop at a local market a few days ago. Uttam and his gang abducted her while she was returning home. She was then taken to an unknown destination and was physically tortured there.
Later, Ghosh returned her to her home at Raspunja. The local residents unfortunately started to taunt her about that incident. They also questioned the morality of the victim. Her family members were compelled to inform the police about the incident. But that news reached Uttam Ghosh that the family of the woman had informed the matter to police.
On Tuesday, the family of the victim again reached to the police station. They lodged a written complaint.
The area Rasapunja has become a haven for the anti-socials. It should be recalled that a drunk youth mowed down several students and their guardians while they were returning from school at Rasapunja crossing. Later, police had arrested the killer driver. Police had learnt that the driver was a member of an anti-social gang.
