3 school kids hurt after truck hits van ferrying them

Three school students were injured when a speeding truck lost control and hit the school van that was ferrying the children.
The incident occurred in Cooch Behar on Thursday morning triggering tension among the local residents.
The local residents rushed the injured passengers to MJN Hospital for treatment. The driver of the van also sustained injuries in the incident. The local people said that the children were returning home after the school hours when a truck lost control and hit the van from behind. After being hit, the van overturned on the road with the children inside the vehicle. The local residents rescued the children who were traumatised. They were immediately rushed to the hospital with injuries on their bodies.
The truck driver had fled along with the vehicle immediately after the accident. After being informed, police reached the spot and stared a probe. The local people have alleged that vehicles often ply at a high speed through the area flouting traffic norms. But the police do not take enough steps to crack down on the vehicles that flout traffic norms. Police are , meanwhile, conducting raids to nab the driver.
