The three-member committee that was formed to pinpoint for whose dereliction of responsibilities in Apollo Gleneagles had led to the death of Sanjay Roy will submit its report to the state Health department on Thursday.
The committee comprising head of surgery department in SSKM Hospital Dr Makhanlal Saha, Health Services Director Biswaranjan Satpathy and gastroenterologist Prof G Dhali had gone through the report that was filed by the six-member committee that was initially formed.
Prof Madhusudhan Banerjee was initially in the three-member committee. But he was replaced with Dr Saha on Wednesday.
Earlier, the six-member committee did not pinpoint to the person(s) actually responsible for the delay in releasing Sanjay till the bills were cleared, medical negligence and tampering of his treatment related documents which led to Sanjay's death. Thus, another three-member committee was formed.
The committee was set to give the report within three days and the state Health department will decide the next course of action after the committee submits its report.
The committee members interrogated three doctors of the private hospital in Health department and they will be filing the report after a meeting on Thursday morning.
The committee members grilled the doctors for hours and noted down their statements.
At the same time, the police are also continuing its probe into the allegation of Sanjay's family members that was lodged with Phoolbagan police station.
On Wednesday, the police recorded statements of two doctors and the chief financial officer of the private hospital.
So far the police have interrogated 10 doctors of the hospital besides other staff. On Tuesday, the police questioned a doctor.
A police officer said that they have prepared a list containing names of the officials and doctors whom they need to interrogate for the sake of the investigation.
