A Ghaziabad-based builder who was abducted on Monday from east Delhi has been rescued by Delhi police from Gagan Vihar. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom for Rs 4 crore. While one accused was arrested, five others are still at large.
The victim identified as Rishab Verma was found during a police raid in Gagan Vihar in Ghaziabad, Verma. ‘He was in very poor state of health. He was lying unconscious with his hands tied and mouth taped’, said RA Sanjeev, Deputy commissioner of Police (North-east).
He further informed that several strips of drugs, injections, and bandage were recovered from the room in which he was confined. At the time of the raid, one Saurabh was nabbed from the spot while remaining five managed to escape. However, their identity have been established and a manhunt is on to nab them.
Meanwhile, police have also informed that someone close to the victim’s family is suspected to be behind the conspiracy. The accused has told police that each of the kidnappers were promised Rs 10 lakh each from the ransom amount if the plan was successfully executed.
