Kanjhawla mishap: Minor girl succumbs to her injuries

The 16-year-old girl who was admitted in a critical condition after she, along with her relatives, met with an accident at outer Delhi’s Kanjhawla, died in the hospital on Tuesday morning.

Four members of the family, including a seven-year-old boy, died on spot after the car they were travelling in rammed into a tree on Monday morning.

“Chetna (16) suffered serious injuries on her head and spinal cord. Her condition was very critical and she succumbed to the injuries on Tuesday morning,” said an official. The Sonepat-based family were returning home after attending a night-long religious function at a temple in Gurgaon.

Apart from Chetna, the other people who died in the accident were identified as Sanjay (35), his wife Sangeeta (26), their son Abhishek (7) and Sangeeta’s brother Sonu (30). The other four occupants, including three minors and a woman were reported to be stable by Monday evening. The incident was reported at around 7.15 am. Locals informed police and rushed the victims to hospital.
