Lawyer of former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda was alleged to have physically assaulted family members of Geetika Sharma, during a hearing at a court in Rohini, on Wednesday.
According to sources, Kanda’s lawyer became hostile during the trial and slapped Geetika’s brother. The incident took place in the court which was hearing arguments of both sides over the date of next hearing. However, the judge, who was hearing the argument, was not present in the court room when the incident took place. Kanda was forced to resign as the home minister of Haryana after he was accused of abetting suicide of 23-year-old Geetika Sharma, who was earlier employed in Kanda’s MDLR airlines.He, along with his key aide Aruna Chaddha, was arrested in 2012.
