Kamla Nagar ATM robbers identified

In a major breakthrough, Delhi Police have identified the two robbers who gunned down a security guard and robbed Rs 1.5 crore from an ATM kiosk in North Delhi’s Kamla Nagar market area in November, 2014.

According to senior police officers of the North district, one of the accused has been identified as Ashutosh Mishra who is currently lodged in Aligarh jail in Uttar Pradesh. Senior cops said that they have asked their UP counterparts to send Mishra to Delhi on transit remand. On the other hand, the second accused Ata-Ullah too has been identified but the Delhi Police have not been able locate him.

On November 2014, two unidentified bike-borne men had gunned down a security guard and robbed Rs 1.5 crore from an ATM kiosk in Kamla Nagar in broad daylight. The custodians of a van belonging to a private firm were refilling money into the ATM, when the unidentified two men on a bike arrived and shot dead the security guard and fled with a bag containing money.

According to the police, the robbers had allegedly kept the briefcase containing the cash on their bike after firing two more shots in the air and fled with ease. The guard, Satender Singh (28), died of his injuries at the hospital. He belongs to Mainpuri area in UP and his family has been informed.

An FIR under sections of murder, robbery and Arms Act was registered against the then unidentified bike-borne robbers who wore helmet during the two minutes of the incident.
