Former President A P J Abdul Kalam made his first ever visit to the Delhi Metro Railways. He boarded at the Central Secretariat and travelled till Rajiv Chowk, where he saw the interchanging arrangements for the yellow and blue line corridors. ‘Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has been rightly certified by the United Nations as the first Metro rail and rail-based system in the world to get ‘carbon credits for reducing greenhouse gas emissions’ and helping in reducing pollution levels in the city by 630,000 tonnes of every year’, he said, while addressing the employees at Metro Bhawan. He was accompanied by Mangu Singh, managing director, DMRC.
