Jung to explore government formation options in Delhi

The Supreme Court is hearing the petition filed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which has demanded fresh elections to the Delhi assembly.

‘In view of the President’s approval to explore the possibility of installing a popular government in Delhi, Najeeb Jung would be exploring the possibility with the leaders of all political parties over the next few days,’ the statement issued from LG House said Wednesday. Sources in Raj Nivas confirmed that Jung met Home Minister Rajnath Singh Wednesday morning, but refused to divulge what transpired at the meeting. Jung’s communique received adverse reaction from from the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

‘On BJP’s instruction, he is delaying. Earlier, he said he would call BJP and now he is saying he will call all-party meeting. They basically want to bypass the SC hearing,’ a Senior Congress leader said.
‘LG should have called all-party meeting on Wednesday itself and taken final decision by evening and informed the Supreme Court on Thursday,’ AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said.
