Jung encourages students to ‘Run for Survival’

On the eve of Children’s Day, more than 250 children from various schools of Delhi participated in the world’s biggest race for children titled ‘The Race for Survival’ to demand the right to life of millions of marginalised children in India.

The children participated in the race to break the world record held by Kenyan marathon runner Patrick Macau.

Lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung, said, ‘We are now at a historic point, where ending preventable child deaths lies within our grasp. It is the responsibility of each one of us to bring about the change so that every child not only survives but also thrives. I hope your efforts will raise awareness on the issue of child mortality in India and globally and motivate everyone to take action,’ in a message to the children participating in the race.
