Julianne Moore to be honoured for Still Alice

The 53-year-old will be feted for her role as a woman with early onset of Alzheimer’s disease in Still Alice Jan 3 2015.

She will join actor Eddie Redmayne, who will receive the honour for Best Actor at the prize giving ceremony, reports contactmusic.com. The news was announced Thursday by festival chairman Harold Matzner.

Past recipients of the award include Sandra Bullock, Natalie Portman and Halle Berry.

Julianne Moore has previously won accolades for her work in films like Boogie Nights,  The House, The Big Lebowski and The Kids Are All Right.
