Joshi fifth, Himmat ninth in Bali golf

Khalin Joshi was the best-placed Indian golfer as he finished tied sixth at the USD 76,000 Bali National Golf Championship here on Sunday.

Joshi, coming back with contrasting scores of four-over 39 and five-under 32 on back nine, carded one-under 71 and finished at five-under 288 in tied sixth place. Also finishing in top-10 was Himmat Rai (74) in tied ninth and Chiragh Kumar (75) was tied 15th.

Joshi dropped a shot on <g data-gr-id="16">fourth</g> and then three in a row from seventh to ninth. On the back nine, he totally reversed the form with an eagle 2 on par-4 10th and three more birdies.

Himmat had a double and a triple bogey besides two other bogeys. But he made up with four birdies for his 74 and Chiragh also suffered five bogeys and a double against four birdies in his 75. At the top, Matthew Giles of Australia sank a clutch birdie putt on the last hole to win the Bali National Golf Championship title by one-shot.
