One year after the Delhi gang rape, the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) has decided to keep the flame alive against sexual assaults and violence. Students have planned songs, marches and meetings for 15 and 16 December to mark the day.
Talking about the move, JNUSU president Akbar Chaudhary said, ‘Last year was witness to the most brutal gang rape of a young student on a bus in Delhi. Soon the entire city and the country at large erupted into a massive and unprecedented protest. As we approach the 16 December this year, it is time to pay tribute to the Delhi braveheart and also to assess what we have achieved and what are the challenges ahead.’
