More than 7,000 students are studying in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Most of the students regularly travel to various parts of Delhi as part of their research work and to different libraries in the city. Many of them depend on Delhi Metro for their travels. Nearest Metro station to JNU is Hauz Khaz which is nearly 4 km from the university. There were hardly any direct DTC or private bus service from the Hauz Khaz Metro station to JNU. Therefore, it is a long pending demand of the students of JNU that Metro feeder buses be provided to the university.
