A Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the September 12 blast in Petlawad town in Jhabua district that killed 89 people, will conduct a narco analysis test on six family members of <g data-gr-id="24">main</g> absconding accused Rajendra <g data-gr-id="26">Kasawa</g>, who has been evading arrest since the incident.
The SIT was given <g data-gr-id="19">a go-ahead</g> to conduct the test by a local court on Friday.
“The SIT had filed an application, seeking permission for narco test, in the court of Judicial Magistrate Anil Chouhan yesterday, which was granted today,” SIT Chief Seema Alawa and Prosecution Officer RP Roy said.
The blast took place in a shop, purportedly owned by <g data-gr-id="20">Kasawa</g>, where a huge quantity of gelatin sticks was stockpiled illegally.
The test will be conducted at Forensic Sciences Laboratory at Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat to know the whereabouts of <g data-gr-id="21">Kasawa</g> who was missing since the day of the blast, they said.
The test will be conducted on <g data-gr-id="27">Kasawa’s</g> wife Pramila, daughter Sonia, son Shubham, brothers Narendra and <g data-gr-id="28">Phoochand</g> and a distant relative, Manoj <g data-gr-id="29">Gaadia</g>.
Madhya Pradesh government has already announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for any information on <g data-gr-id="22">Kasawa</g>.
