For the first time Jamia Millia Islamia University will be streaming video of the proceedings of the annual convocation live on Jamia’s web site on 22 November 2012 at 3 pm to be held at M A Ansari auditorium.
In the convocation, 4,179 degrees/diplomas will be awarded to students who have successfully completed post graduation, graduation and diploma from different faculties/departments/centres of the university in the academic year 2010-11.
The university will also hand out 147 gold medals to the toppers of different courses as well as award 204 PhD degrees to research scholars.
On this occasion, the university will also confer the ‘Doctor of Letters’ (Honoris Causa) on Ashok Seth, a famous cardiologist. Seth’s pursuit of excellence in the field of cardiology has been instrumental in putting Indian medical science on the world map. He has contributed to the growth, development and scientific progress of interventional cardiology. Seth has performed one of the highest numbers of angiographies and angioplasties in the world, which has been acknowledged by the Limca Book of Records.
