enior BJP leader and MLA Jagdish Mukhi was on Monday appointed pro-tem Speaker of Delhi assembly.
The appointment was made by Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.
Mukhi is a former minister of Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation and Higher Education in the Delhi government. He will take oath of the office at the L-G house on Tuesday.
As per the tradition, the L-G will administer oath to the senior most MLA for pro-tem speaker and the latter will then administer oath to all the elected MLAs in the Assembly.
Mukhi will work as an acting Speaker till the appointment of a full-time Speaker of the House.
