Shri Jagdish Kumar has taken over as Director (Technical) of Indraprastha Power Generation Company Ltd (IPGCL) and Pragati Power Corporation Ltd (PPCL). Kumar has been appointed in place of P K Ray who has retired on superannuation.
A mechanical engineer by training, Kumar has vast experience of working in gas and coal-based projects and power plants in various capacities in the power sector.
He started his career with the Public Works Department (PWD) in 1978 and later joined the erstwhile Delhi Electricity Supply Undertaking (DESU) in 1981 as assistant engineer (E/M).
He became executive engineer in 1993, deputy general manager in 2003 and was promoted as general manager (technical) in 2008.
