Italy’s Prime Minister Mario Monti has condemned the bombing at the Boston Marathon that killed three people and injured over 170, calling it a ‘cowardly and contemptible act of violence’.
In a message to US President Barack Obama, Monti expressed Italy's ‘strong condemnation’ of the attack.
‘Its level of horror and the suffering it has caused fill us with indignation,’ Monti said. ‘I send profound condolences to the victims’ families and the injured,’ he added.
