Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP university) is going to organise a four-day International Conference on Academic Libraries starting from Tuesday. Chief guest on the occasion would be Narendra Jadhav, member, Planning Commission. B K Gairola, Mission Director, E-Governance, and Marshall Breeding, former director for Innovative Technology and Research at Vaderbilt University, USA will also grace the occasion.
Vice-Chancellor D K Bandyopadhyay will inaugurate the function. First such conference was organised by Delhi University around three years ago.
According to Organising Secretary, Subhash Deshmukh, theme of the conference is Academic Library Services through Cloud Computing. Cloud Computing has revolutionised the way computing infrastructure are being used. Instead of installing software applications on their computers, we can use their browsers to access ‘Cloud Services’.
