Inside story of India’s F1 track in a documentary

The third installment of the Indian Grand Prix is just couple of weeks away and to woo fans, National Geographic Channel in association with Jaypee Sports International Limited has come up with a documentary on the world renowned track. The documentary is titled ‘Buddh International Circuit: A Race Against Time.’

The one hour special documentary was unveiled on Tuesday by the country’s first Formula 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan.  Sameer Gaur, MD & CEO, Jaypee Sports International Limited and Debarpita Banerjee, VP - Marketing, NGC Network and Fox International Channels were presented at the special screening.

Celebrated F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan lauded the initiative. He said, ‘The Indian audience over the past decade have started widening their horizons of interest and have accepted Formula one racing as one of the most exciting sports. They want to know more, witness more and engage better with the sport. Nat Geo’s documentary will help fans better appreciate the massive efforts and resources put into creating one of the best racing circuits in the world.'

Sameer Gaur lauded the place this circuit has established on the national sporting arena. He said, ‘The Buddh International Circuit brings pride to our nation as it has helped India make its mark on the global racing scene. While racing enthusiasts have been partaking of the thrill of F1 for two seasons now, very few have been privy to the hard work and dedication that has gone into the making this sporting extravaganza.’

Debarpita Banerjee called the Buddh International Circuit, an awe inspiring piece of infrastructure. She said,  The Buddh International Circuit stands as a symbol of one of the most awe inspiring Indian infrastructure projects in recent history.’  The documentary will be aired on 25 October at 8 pm on NGC.
